12:37 pm - Movies of 2005
This is your guide of movies to see in 2005.

-Be Cool (If you liked Get Shorty, and like sequels 10 years later, this is for you!)
-The Ring 2 (Shut up, I loved the first one)
-Melinda and Melinda (Director/Writer Woody Allen is back. AND HE ISN'T STARRING.)
-Sin City (Looks extremely well made, casted, nostalgic almost, and just as sexy.)
*-The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Fuck yeah)
-House of Wax (lmao)
-Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (Come on)
-War of the Worlds (One of the most expensive films ever made better fucking dazzle me)
*-Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Tim Burton's most stylishly obscene project with all the usual crazy shit. oh yeah. --Along with a STELLAR cast.)
-The Island (It seem interesting)
-Elizabethtown (It better be fantstic after Almost Famous)
-The Brothers Grimm (From the Director of the Monty Python films, and 7 years after Fear and Loathing in LV, should be entertaining)
-Dark Water (Hideo Nakata is certainly popular. And Jennifer Connelly needs to be in more horror/thrillers. Mmm, Dark City.)
-Romance & Cigarettes (Various big names. Christopher Walken. Comedy/Musical. Oh my.)
-A Scanner Darkly (Director of Waking Life will animate this film the same way he did WL, based on a sci-fi Philip K Dick novel)
*-The Corpse Bride (Burton has 2 films sure to amaze this year, this one harkening back to TNBC with stop motion, based on a creepy Russian Fairy-tale. This as well as CatCF have top-notch casting.)
-Where the Wild Things Are (Still early in production and estimated 2005 release. But combine the classic story, and wild director Spike Jonze, it should be great)
*-Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (God I love this title. Reported to be among the most expensive films ever(though it has nothing on the reported 300mil for the Order of the Phoenix). The series' 3rd director--but the same cast--is making bold choices cough*massacring the novel*cough with this one)

*There on opening day. Fo sho. But I'm looking forward to them all.
So there you are. It should be another good year for cinema and a ride in special effects.

EDIT: a few I missed:
-Steamboy (a great looking anime by Otomo, who made Akira, with a great cast, and visuals to match.)
-The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe (Will be dazzling. based on the classic book, poised be 2005's LotR. using the designers "WETA" who did LotR, producing some excelling scenery and costumes, guarantee success.)
-Up and Down (A very fun looking foreign comedy from the Czech Republic)
